Research Conducted at PPGCI/UFC Selected for the Catalisa ICT Program by Sebrae Nacional
Published at: May 8, 2025 Category: NewsThe dissertation entitled Management of Audiovisual Collections in Repositories, which proposes an audiovisual repository structured around library mediation, was defended at PPGCI/UFC. Authored by librarian Edvander Pires, advised by Professor Giovanna Guedes and co-advised by Professor Tadeu Feitosa, the dissertation was defended in 2018 and has since supported information management activities in various projects at the Federal University of Ceará.
In 2025, the research proposal will be expanded and presented to other fields of practice and the digital market through Catalisa ICT, an initiative by Sebrae Nacional aimed at transforming scientific knowledge into high-impact solutions. The idea is to offer information services through the structuring of an audiovisual repository intended to gather academic videos and podcasts, as a solution “for organizing the large volume of virtual documentary mass produced on YouTube channels and the podosphere,” states the researcher.
According to Edvander Pires, “it will be a great challenge to bring to Sebrae Nacional a proposal originating from the fields of Librarianship, Information Science, and Applied Social Sciences, demonstrating that librarians can act within entrepreneurship and lead startups focused on the development of information products and services.”
Once structured, the repository will be named Audiovisual Co-Creation and will integrate activities of the Co-Creating Project on YouTube and the Podosphere, led by Edvander Pires and Joana Páscoa, alumni of PPGCI/UFC. The partnership with Sebrae encourages project management and startup leadership in different professional niches.
